12-step Monster Hunter Outlanders beginner guide
- Pick the server you will keep. North America, Japan and Europe are separate. Data cannot be transferred and you cannot team up across regions, so register on the server your friends use. Details on the servers page.
- Choose Adventure or Classic controls. Adventure Mode uses three core buttons (Attack, Evade, Burst) and is built for players new to action games. Classic Mode keeps the traditional Monster Hunter scheme. You can switch in the control settings.
- Decide whether to reroll. If you want a specific SSR, reroll before you bind the account. The reroll guide covers the fastest loop.
- Redeem the launch code. mho1029 gives 200 Rutacoin and 20,000 Zenny. Enter it in the Event Center. All codes are on the codes page.
- Use the starter banner. It runs on standard tickets and, as reported by one guide, guarantees an SSR within 50 pulls.
- Collect the free Adventurers. Eight Adventurers need no pulls; see the list below. Luka and Haze are both S tier.
- Learn Perfect Evade. Dodge at the exact moment an attack would land to trigger follow-up moves. Several armor sets reward it with a damage boost.
- Bring the right element. Element matters more than tier. Check the weakness chart before each hunt.
- Build Kulu-Ya-Ku armor first. Two Kulu-Ya-Ku pieces give an attack and element bonus while your health is full. Add two Radiant Great Jagras pieces next. Builds per weapon are on the weapons page.
- Do not buy whetstones. Sharpness never depletes in Monster Hunter Outlanders. Pick weapons by attack, element and sharpness, then slot decorations for skills.
- Craft field facilities. Chop trees and mine ore, then use the Build button for a Catapult, Wind Platform or Zip Line to cross the map faster.
- Watch the Ecological Rank. As you progress, the field's Ecological Rank rises and monsters get stronger, so upgrade gear before pushing the story.

Beginner guide: how Monster Hunter Outlanders differs from other Monster Hunter games
Monster Hunter Outlanders is an open-world mobile game by TiMi Studio Group, licensed and supervised by Capcom. Instead of a lone hunter, you lead a squad of Adventurers. Each Adventurer has a fixed weapon and element and belongs to one of three classes: Assault, Disruptor or Support. Your own Fated Adventurer can use all 8 weapon types.
Monsters roam the world map at the same time, so you can hunt them whenever you find them instead of picking a quest first. Hunts add Adventurer Ultimates, Buddy Ultimates and a Co-Op Skill: once one Adventurer activates it, the rest must hit the same monster part in time for it to succeed. Radiant monsters, charged with Radiantite, are new to this game and drop materials for new gear.

Should a beginner use Adventure Mode or Classic Mode in Monster Hunter Outlanders?
Adventure Mode if you are new to action games or mobile controls: three buttons cover attacks, evasion and Burst. Series veterans usually prefer Classic Mode.
Can I change Monster Hunter Outlanders servers later?
No. Server data is independent and cannot be transferred, according to the official launch FAQ.
Can I play on multiple devices?
