The pack leader of the Jagras, usually the first large monster you hunt in the Outlands. It is a fanged wyvern you meet in the early game. Bring Fire damage: it is the element its Hunter's Notes entry rates highest. Aim at the head and belly for the most damage. Poison, Sleep, Paralysis, Blast and Stun (KO) work on it, according to one guide.
Radiant Great Jagras is the Radiantite-charged version. It keeps the same top weakness as the base form, but hits harder. It is found in Outlands and Mud Swamp. Its materials go into Radiant armor, whose set bonus differs from the base set.
